I received my classical training at the University of Edinburgh and hold a master’s degree in counselling.
This training was based on a dialogue between the person-centred approach, located within the humanistic tradition, and psychodynamic perspectives, located within the psychoanalytic tradition. Both are alive in how I work.
I have extensive experience counselling NHS staff based in Edinburgh’s main hospitals and clinics as well as working with clients in agencies, universities and private practice.
As a practitioner of yoga and meditation, this has enhanced what I offer in counselling and continues to inform my approach to therapy and life.
As a registered member of the British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP), I work within their ethical framework for good practice.
